Mobile carriers in the United States are understandably working very hard to build new data networks. The 5G standard of mobile connectivity is already here. Now it is a matter of building the networks that will allow people to access those speeds.

The move from 4G to 5G promises to change a lot about the way internet is consumed. Companies already have the basic infrastructure and parts, such as the hybrid coupler, in place for 5G. But the physical building of the networks is the most crucial, expensive and time consuming part of the process.
When everything is done, users will be able to access speeds that are higher than gigabit networks – through wireless internet. Companies such as Verizon are already promising 5G home internet in the coming year. Soon there will be mobile phones that have 5G capability as well.
There is a major issue related to the access to public utility poles in the United States. These poles are needed as companies are setting up their 5G networks in major cities across the country. But some local authorities want to charge for the use of these poles, which is creating an issue.
When a company like T-Mobile or Verizon wants to set up its 5G network for a city, they must use public access utility poles during the process. But that means getting a lot of paperwork completed which is necessary for obtaining clearance. And some places want to charge significant money for access to those poles.
The FCC in the United States is working on removing some of that red tape, which would allow these companies quicker and much cheaper access to those utility poles. It remains to be seen how the FCC proposal will play out. There is a lot of support for lowering fees to hasten the process of 5G implementation.Read More
